More Kan. Landowners Sue Over Wind Farm Regulations

Law360, New York (December 3, 2010, 5:40 PM EST) -- More plaintiffs have joined a lawsuit that claims environmental and other regulations put in place by officials in Ellis County, Kan., including a required $5 million insurance policy, unlawfully prohibit landowners who hold energy development contracts from developing wind rights on their properties.

The additional plaintiffs joined Martha and Thomas McClelland and a company called Invenergy Wind Development LLC in an amended complaint, lodged Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. They allege that the zoning regulations implemented by the county commissioners...
