Hospital Worker Seeks High Court View On Retaliation

Law360 (December 6, 2010, 1:50 PM EST) -- An Illinois hospital employee has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether the anti-retaliation provision of the Civil Rights Act protects a worker from being dismissed because she cooperated with her employer's internal investigation of gender discrimination.

The petition, filed in the high court Nov. 24 and made available Friday, also asks whether an employer may lawfully terminate an employee who it feels has exercised bad judgment during the course of an internal investigation.
