Nvidia CEO Says He Was Not Deceived By 3dfx Deal

Law360, New York (March 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The chief executive of Nvidia Corp. has testified that the graphics chip manufacturer was not duped into purchasing a struggling competitor in 2001.

Jen-Hsun Huang told a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday that Nvidia offered a fair deal for 3dfx Interactive Inc., a graphics chip designer that has since collapsed into bankruptcy.

In 2001, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nvidia bought 3dfx for $70 million in cash and agreed it would provide 3dfx 1 million in Nvidia shares if...
