Pfizer Wins Verdict In Suit Over Prempro-Cancer Link

Law360, New York (December 6, 2010, 7:45 PM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. subsidiary Wyeth has won a jury verdict in a case in which a woman claims the company failed to warn the public that the hormone Prempro could cause the breast cancer she developed.

A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday found for Wyeth, closing a chapter on six years of litigation.

Plaintiff Georgia Torkie-Tork blamed Wyeth's Prempro, which she took for menopause symptoms, for breast cancer that needed a partial mastectomy to treat.
