Greens Seek To Join EPA In Cement Kiln Rule Dispute

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 4:28 PM EST) -- Six environmental groups are seeking to intervene on behalf of the U.S. government in a consolidated case brought by a cement trade association challenging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s new rule limiting mercury emissions from cement kilns.

The groups called on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Monday to back the EPA in its fight with the Portland Cement Association, which filed suit in early November seeking to overturn the agency’s new cement production restrictions.
