Upton Named Head Of House Energy Committee

Law360, New York (December 8, 2010, 3:16 PM EST) -- Republican leaders have selected Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., to head the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and, as expected, they have decided to jettison the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.

The House Republican Steering Committee voted Tuesday to make Upton the next chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee, a move that was expected to be ratified soon after by the full House Republican Conference.
