Microsoft Faces Suit Over Web Browser Patent

Law360, New York (December 9, 2010, 6:49 PM EST) -- New York-based software company Robocast Inc. is taking Microsoft Corp. to court, accusing the technology giant of appropriating Robocast's patented automated browsing tools in developing Bing and Windows Vista.

Robocast filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware alleging Microsoft willfully infringed Robocast's U.S. Patent Number 7,155,451.

According to the complaint, Robocast freely gave Microsoft access to confidential information during early discussions over Microsoft's potential acquisition of the software company starting in 2000, but a buyout never happened, and Microsoft went...
