Denver Police Defeat Class Cert. In Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (December 9, 2010, 2:40 PM EST) -- A group of current and former employees at the Denver Police Department has lost its bid for class certification in a lawsuit alleging the police discriminated against them based on race, color, national origin and gender.

Judge Philip A. Brimmer of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado issued the ruling Wednesday, saying there was no evidence the putative class is large enough to warrant class action status and that each employee appeared to suffer different forms of discrimination.
