Goldman's Tourre Says SEC Case Has 'Fatal Defects'

Law360, New York (December 10, 2010, 3:56 PM EST) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executive Fabrice Tourre has filed a new motion to dismiss the U.S. government's fraud suit against him, saying the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's revisions to its complaint "fail utterly to remedy the fatal defects" in its case.

In his motion, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Tourre argued that the SEC had not effectively rebutted his argument that the transaction at the heart of the case, which lost investors $1 billion, occurred overseas...
