Fertilizer Bill Kicks Off NJ Cleanup Efforts

Law360, New York (December 14, 2010, 4:04 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Legislature has approved a bill that would establish some of the toughest standards in the nation for the application and content of fertilizer, and is moving forward with a package of other measures likewise designed to clean up Barnegat Bay.

On Monday, the fertilizer bill passed the state Assembly by a 66-7 vote and the state Senate by a 36-3 vote. It will now move to Republican Gov. Chris Christie, who is expected to sign it into law.
