Jury Slaps Southwestern Unit With $11.4M Verdict

Law360, New York (December 15, 2010, 3:40 PM EST) -- A Texas jury has ordered a unit of oil and natural gas company Southwestern Energy Co. to fork over $11.4 million in damages for allegedly violating a confidentiality agreement and stealing trade secrets related to two prospects in the state's James Lime formation.

The jury in the 273rd District Court of Shelby County, Texas, issued the verdict Monday against Southwestern Energy Production Co., the Houston-based parent company said in a statement Tuesday.
