US Bars Drop-Side Cribs After Deaths, Recalls

Law360, New York (December 15, 2010, 6:34 PM EST) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Wednesday voted to ban drop-side cribs, marking the first time in nearly 30 years that federal crib standards have been updated.

After Wednesday's unanimous vote, CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum said the unprecedented ban gave the U.S. some of the world's strongest protections in the product category.
