Calif. Appeals Court Upholds LA Stormwater Standards

Law360, New York (December 16, 2010, 5:05 PM EST) -- Reversing a lower court decision, a California appeals court has found that a water quality plan for Los Angeles and Ventura counties legally allows for more stringent regulation of stormwater runoff that is polluting the area's famous beaches.

A three-judge panel of California's Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled Tuesday against about 20 Southern California municipalities and a nonprofit that represents the construction industry, which had sued the State Water Resources Control Board and the affiliated Los Angeles regional board.
