Judge OKs $4M Deal To End Lowe's Dryer Vent Suits

Law360, New York (December 15, 2010, 8:11 PM EST) -- A federal judge has granted final approval to a $3.85 million settlement with Lowe's Cos. Inc. that could put about $20 in the pocket of each person who makes a claim as part of a national class of consumers who sued over the retailer's alleged use of an insufficient vent when installing new clothes dryers.

Judge Richard L. Voorhees on Wednesday signed off on the settlement and awarded class counsel $1.25 million in attorneys' fees and expenses, according to his judgment in the U.S. District Court...
