4th Circ. Affirms Award In Army Contract Bribery Case

Law360, New York (December 17, 2010, 5:53 PM EST) -- Two men imprisoned on fraud and bribery charges have lost their appeal of a $319,000 restitution award for allegedly scheming to steer a U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command contract to a company owned by one of the defendants.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which had previously affirmed a lower court ruling on the length of their sentences, on Thursday rejected arguments that the district court violated its mandate to rehear the matter and abused its discretion in awarding the restitution....
