Ford Can't Shake ERISA Suits

Law360, New York (December 17, 2010, 5:51 PM EST) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss lawsuits brought by a group of Ford Motor Co. employees accusing the automaker of illegally tampering with a severance plan and withholding employee benefits guaranteed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

In orders filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Judge Victoria A. Roberts rejected Ford's arguments that she should nix the suits in the wake of a federal appeals court's ruling in a similar case.
