ITC Launches 337 Probe Into Microsoft's Xbox

Law360 (December 20, 2010, 3:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into Microsoft Corp. based on Motorola Mobility Inc.'s allegations that the software giant's Xbox gaming consoles infringe five of its patents covering methods for wireless communications and data compression.

The ITC announced Friday that it would investigate Microsoft in response to a Nov. 22 complaint from Motorola and its Horsham, Pa.-based subsidiary General Instrument Corp.
