Class Recertified In XTO Gas Royalty Action

Law360, New York (December 20, 2010, 7:10 PM EST) -- A federal judge has restored class certification to natural gas royalty owners who allege that XTO Energy Inc. underpaid them on royalty interests, following a decision to decertify the class earlier in the year because of attorney issues.

Judge Tim Leonard of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wyoming on Thursday granted lead plaintiffs Bill Fankhouser and Tim Goddard’s request to certify a new class following the judge’s April 13 decision to revoke class certification due to purportedly ineffective counsel.
