PPG Unit Fined $3M For Pakistan Nuclear Plant Exports

Law360, New York (December 22, 2010, 7:25 PM EST) -- PPG Paints Trading Co. Ltd., a Chinese subsidiary of U.S.-based PPG Industries Inc., has pled guilty to conspiring to violate U.S. export laws by delivering coating materials to Pakistan for use in nuclear reactors, agreeing to pay a total of $3 million in criminal and civil fines.

PPG Paints Trading will pay the maximum criminal fine — $2 million — and an additional $1 million in civil fines, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday. The company will be placed on corporate probation for five years...
