Federal Circuit Rules For Echostar In Irdeto Access Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 14, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has affirmed a summary judgment in EchoStar's favor that said the company did not infringe a patent held by Irdeto Access, formerly known as TV/Com International.

Irdeto brought suit against Echostar on June 12, 1998 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, claiming that EchoStar's Dish Network system infringed a patent for three layers of encryption and decryption "keys" to provide programming.
