Abott Sues Teva, Sandoz, Ranbaxy Over Omnicef

Law360 (March 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Abbott Laboratories and Astellas Pharma Inc. have filed a patent infringement suit seeking to stave off generic competition from Teva, Ranbaxy and Sandoz in the market for the antibiotic Omnicef.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, naming Sandoz GmbH, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. and their U.S.-based subsidiaries as defendants.
