Comcast-NBC Deal Wins FCC Chair's Support

Law360, New York (December 23, 2010, 4:12 PM EST) -- Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski on Thursday reportedly endorsed Comcast Corp.'s proposed $37 billion acquisition of NBC Universal Inc. from General Electric Co. with conditions, sparking an outcry from opponents of the deal.

According to various news reports citing anonymous FCC officials, Genachowski circulated a draft proposal that would require Comcast to make NBC video content available to pay-TV competitors at reasonable, nondiscriminatory terms.
