Toyota Settled Calif. Crash Suit For $10M: Judge

Law360, New York (December 23, 2010, 7:27 PM EST) -- A California judge on Thursday disclosed that Toyota Motor Corp. paid $10 million to settle a suit over an August 2009 car crash allegedly caused by sudden acceleration that killed four people and played a role in prompting the automaker to recall millions of vehicles.

Toyota settled the case in September over the deaths of California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Saylor and his family in the California Superior Court for the County of San Diego, but the terms were deemed confidential at the time.
