Sony, Chimei Settle LCD Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 5, 2011, 3:19 PM EST) -- Sony Corp. has struck a deal in a patent dispute over liquid crystal display technology owned by Chimei Innolux Corp., resolving an investigation at the U.S. International Trade Commission as well as two infringement suits.

On Monday, Administrative Law Judge Theodore Essex agreed to terminate the 337 proceedings at the ITC in light of the sweeping settlement, which also brought a close to Chimei’s district court cases in December.
