STMicro Antitrust Suit Falls Short, Avago Says

Law360, New York (January 5, 2011, 5:05 PM EST) -- Avago Technologies U.S. Inc. has moved to toss STMicroelectronics Inc.'s suit accusing the company of illegally acquiring a patent for optical sensors and using it to monopolize the market for the technology found in computer mice.

The motion, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, argued STMicro's nearly 50-page complaint should be dismissed because it failed to state a proper claim of antitrust injury under the Clayton and Sherman acts.
