Chase Can't Shake Cardholder APR Class Action

Law360 (January 6, 2011, 2:20 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Chase Bank USA NA's bid to dismiss a putative class action that accuses it of deceiving credit card customers by not clearly disclosing the risk factors that would lead to increases in annual percentage rates.

Judge Ancer L. Haggerty of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon on Tuesday denied Chase's motion to dismiss claims that it violated the Truth in Lending Act but nixed a breach of contract claim based on concessions by the plaintiffs.
