Former Va. Lawmaker Indicted For Bribery, Extortion

Law360, New York (January 6, 2011, 4:41 PM EST) -- Former Virginia state lawmaker Phillip A. Hamilton has been indicted for allegedly shaking down a university for a job in exchange for state funding.

A federal grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Wednesday returned the indictment of Hamilton, a veteran member of the Virginia House of Delegates, for bribery and extortion.
