Ex-Blagojevich Fundraiser Wins Sentencing Delay

Law360, New York (January 6, 2011, 5:59 PM EST) -- A federal judge has delayed the sentencing of an ex-fundraiser for former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, reportedly to let the defendant testify at the approaching retrial of the impeached politician.

Judge Amy J. St. Eve canceled Antoin "Tony" Rezko's Jan. 28 sentencing date in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Thursday, according to a docket entry, and also waived the Chicago businessman's mandatory presence at a Jan. 28 hearing on his pending motion for a new trial.
