CIT Allows Duty-Free Chinese Pipe Fittings

Law360, New York (January 6, 2011, 8:20 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Thursday approved a U.S. Department of Commerce order allowing Chinese pipe fittings to be imported duty-free when intended for structural use, ending a row between a U.S. pipe fitting maker and an importer.

Although neither King Supply Co., the pipe importer challenging the duties, nor duty backer Tube Forgings of America Inc. was entirely happy with the remand order as written, Judge R. Kenton Musgrave of the U.S. Court of International Trade gave it his approval.
