Tronox Asks Court To Sign Off On Truce With SEC

Law360, New York (January 7, 2011, 6:33 PM EST) -- Bankrupt pigment producer Tronox Inc. has asked for a judge's blessing on a settlement reached with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that would deregister Tronox's class B common stock.

Tronox said it did not believe court approval of the settlement was actually required but that Tronox has asked anyway out of "an abundance of caution" and a desire to notify all parties involved, according to the motion filed Thursday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
