Insurer Seeks To Dodge Mead Johnson Coverage

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 1:10 PM EST) -- National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa., has asked a federal court to declare that it has no obligation to defend or indemnify Mead Johnson & Co. against a slew of consumer class actions over its marketing of infant formula.

The insurer filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, seeking a declaration that it has no duty to cover Mead Johnson's defense in six consumer class actions filed against the company across the nation.
