Ex-Army Sergeant Gets 7.5 Years For Taking Bribes

Law360, New York (January 7, 2011, 7:59 PM EST) -- A former U.S. Army staff sergeant has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison following his guilty plea to taking more than $400,000 in bribes from a government contractor when supervising fuel receipts and redistribution at an Afghanistan military base.

Sentencing Judge T.S. Ellis III of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday also ordered Stevan Nathan Ringo to forfeit the proceeds of his offense.
