Boston Scientific Bags $104M IP Arbitration Deal

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 4:06 PM EST) -- Boston Scientific Corp. has struck a deal with Israeli medical device company Medinol Ltd. to end their intellectual property war over drug-coated heart stents, with Medinol shelling out $104 million to the U.S.-based company.

The settlement resolves the companies' dispute before the American Arbitration Association and calls for each party to release each other of all claims in the matter, according to a filing Boston Scientific made with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.
