McCain, Barrasso Back Brazil In Ethanol Tariff Fight

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 7:02 PM EST) -- U.S. senators taking part in a congressional delegation trip to Brazil have reportedly condemned U.S. ethanol tariffs and said Brazil, the world’s leading ethanol producer, is likely to prevail if it protests the measures at the World Trade Organization.

Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., voiced support for Brazil’s opposition to U.S. ethanol policy during a visit with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, raising the prospect of a showdown at the WTO, Reuters reported.
