Nevada Power Pays $90M To Resolve Pollution Claims

Law360, New York (April 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sierra Pacific Resources subsidiary Nevada Power Co. will pay $1.1 million to resolve allegations of emissions violations brought by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, the agency said Tuesday.

A settlement reached with state and federal regulators also includes $84.2 million in upgrades to Nevada Power’s Reid Gardner coal-fired electric generating plant located outside Las Vegas and a $4 million payout over seven years to go toward energy conservation projects for Nevada schools.
