High Court Mulls Jurisdiction Shift For Foreign Cos.

Law360 (January 11, 2011, 7:35 PM EST) -- Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations SA and J. McIntyre Machinery Ltd. asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday to reject separate product liability suits facing them in state courts, disputes that could redefine U.S. jurisdictional standards for foreign companies.

British scrap metal machinery company McIntyre challenged a New Jersey Supreme Court ruling sustaining jurisdiction over claims from a man hurt by a McIntyre machine made in England and sold by a third-party distributor in the U.S.
