Key 2010 TTAB Opinions And Their Future Impact

Law360 (January 25, 2011, 2:19 PM EST) -- The Trademark Trial Appeal Board (TTAB) is the administrative body within the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that hears opposition proceedings filed against trademark applications, as well as appeals by applicants when applications are refused registration.

Of the 46 precedential opinions of the TTAB in 2010, two stand out as particularly noteworthy. These opinions offer guidance to trademark practitioners regarding the hot-button issues of dilution and fraud on the USPTO.
