Remy Unit To Pay For Ind. Cleanup Costs

Law360 (January 12, 2011, 5:43 PM EST) -- A subsidiary of electrical systems company Remy International Inc. has agreed to pay $300,000 to resolve a Superfund suit seeking reimbursement for the costs incurred from cleaning up hazardous substances at an Indiana U.S. Air Force base.

Western Reman Industrial Inc. did not admit any liability, but by paying $300,000 to the Air Force it was protecting itself from both federal government and contribution claims, according to a consent decree lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
