Geithner Presses China On Market Barriers

Law360, New York (January 12, 2011, 5:51 PM EST) -- Ahead of Chinese President Hu Jintao's U.S. visit, Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner called on officials Wednesday to address critical barriers still facing American companies in Chinese markets, including native procurement preferences, undervalued currency and intellectual property theft.

Geithner previewed the U.S.' top economic talking points during a speech at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, as American officials gear up for Hu's first official state visit to the White House in mid-January.
