ABC Rug & Carpet Wins $7M In Trademark Row

Law360 (January 13, 2011, 5:52 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ordered a New York carpet cleaning service to pay $7 million for infringing the trademarked name of its better-known competitor, ABC Rug & Carpet Cleaning Service Inc.

Judge Richard M. Berman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday adopted a magistrate judge's recommendation that defendant ABC Rug Cleaners Inc. had willfully infringed and should pay treble its gross profits during the period of infringement.
