Nielsen Escapes TV Ratings Monopoly Suit In Fla.

Law360, New York (January 14, 2011, 7:25 PM EST) -- A judge has thrown out a television station operator's antitrust claims against Nielsen Media Research Inc., ruling that it did not impede willing and able competitors from entering the TV ratings market because there weren't any, though he left breach of contract and other claims alive in the case.

Judge Paul Huck of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Thursday partially granted Nielsen's motion for summary judgment but deferred ruling on the suit's remaining counts of breach of contract and violation...
