Analysts Slap Hartford Unit With Overtime Action

Law360, New York (January 14, 2011, 3:14 PM EST) -- Hartford Fire Insurance Group has been hit with a putative class action alleging the company failed to pay analysts overtime wages in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The company unlawfully classified its disability analysts and claims examiners as exempt from overtime wages and failed to keep accurate records of hours worked in violation of federal wage laws, according to a complaint filed by three former Hartford Fire Insurance employees Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
