Botulism Fears Land NY Juice Maker In Hot Water

Law360 (January 14, 2011, 3:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has filed a lawsuit seeking to shut down a New York juice company for failing to comply with practices designed to minimize the risk of its refrigerated carrot juice products causing botulism.

The suit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, seeks a permanent injunction that would prevent Mystical One LLC, a Jamaica, N.Y.-based beverage company, from processing and distributing juice and other products.
