Energy Cos. Agree To Settle Natural Gas Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (April 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reliant Energy Services Inc. and a handful of other energy companies have reached a settlement in a purported antitrust class action over allegations that they made improper prearranged trades that hiked up natural gas prices.

The settlement of the action, brought on behalf of millions of California business and residential consumers against Reliant, Duke Energy Trading and Marketing LLC, CMS Energy Resources and Aquila Merchant Services, is pending in the San Diego Superior Court.
