Imperial Sugar Sues Ironshore For Recall Coverage

Law360, New York (January 20, 2011, 3:14 PM EST) -- Imperial Sugar Co. has sued Ironshore Specialty Insurance Co. in order to obtain several million dollars in potential coverage for litigation and liability related to a widespread 2010 sugar recall.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges that Ironshore wrongly denied coverage under its umbrella liability policy for claims customers have asserted against the sugar company over the July recall.
