Capitol Hill Visit By China's Hu Draws Trade Rebuke

Law360, New York (January 20, 2011, 6:34 PM EST) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao discussed China’s currency, economic disputes and other issues with congressional leaders Thursday morning, drawing criticism from some lawmakers who claimed the country’s trade policies were unfair.

In brief closed-door meetings on Capitol Hill, Hu discussed China’s purported manipulation of the Yuan and other aspects of U.S.-China economic ties with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, among others.
