Judge Scraps NRDC's Soap Suit Against FDA

Law360, New York (January 21, 2011, 5:27 PM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed a suit brought against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by the Natural Resources Defense Council seeking to force the agency to regulate triclosan and triclocarban, two ingredients in anti-bacterial soaps that allegedly pose health risks.

Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York concurred with the federal government's argument that the plaintiff lacked sufficient standing to bring the suit in an order issued Thursday.
