Sharp Asks ITC For Broad LCD Investigation

Law360, New York (January 24, 2011, 5:58 PM EST) -- Liquid crystal display manufacturer Sharp Corp. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether a slew of Asian companies have unfairly infringed its patents.

Taiwan-based Au Optronics Corp. and other companies violated section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by infringing Sharp patents for LCD technology in their LCD televisions, computer monitors and related products, counsel for Sharp said in the complaint filed Monday with the U.S. International Trade Commission.
