US Destroyed Evidence In Bribery Case: Defendant

Law360, New York (January 25, 2011, 4:24 PM EST) -- Another defendant ensnared in an undercover government bribery sting has asked a federal judge to toss the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act case, claiming the government destroyed evidence by failing to preserve text messages between the FBI and its informant.

Marc F. Morales, who has been indicted for allegedly trying to bribe an African official, asked Monday to join a motion lodged on Jan. 13 by 19 other defendants that said the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia should throw out the so-called Shot-Show case...
