Watchdog To Probe SEC's Lease Policies

Law360, New York (January 25, 2011, 5:21 PM EST) -- The internal watchdog at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a probe into the agency's leasing policies over concerns that lax procurement procedures are wasting taxpayer dollars.

SEC Inspector General H. David Kotz said in a statement on Monday that he would investigate the agency’s leasing activity and procurements, specifically relating to the Constitution Center and Station Place III in Washington, D.C., and the SEC's regional operations center in Virginia, with the possibility of more offices subject to the probe in the future....
